The Club Sponsorship Pack Generator

Local businesses do sponsor clubs. What stops most committees is not the answer, it is never getting round to writing the thing you hand over. Fill in your club details and this builds a proper sponsorship proposal: who you are, who a sponsor would reach, what the packages are, and what each one costs. Edit every word, then save it as a PDF.

Free, no account. Create locally, then verify your email for an emailed PDF and download.

Step one: your club

Tell us who a sponsor would be backing.

Build and edit locally in your browser. If you request an emailed PDF, the report, including any contact details you add, is shared with Comnly and our email provider to deliver it.

Used to size the suggested package prices. A rough figure is fine.

Step two: what could your club offer a sponsor?

Pick everything that is realistic. Most clubs sell more in total from several modest packages than from chasing one headline deal.

Step three: who should a business get in touch with?Optional

A named person converts far better than an info@ address. These details go into your pack only. If you request an emailed PDF, they are included in that copy. They are never put into a page link.

Free, no account needed. You can edit every word before you save it.

How to approach a local business for sponsorship

01

What goes in a sponsorship pack

Four things, and nothing else. Who the club is, in plain language. Who the sponsor would be reaching, with real numbers rather than adjectives. What is actually on offer, with a price against each package. And a named person to reply to. Committees tend to write three pages of club history and half a line about the sponsor. Flip that: the business is reading to work out what it gets.

02

Why you should quote a price

The most common mistake is asking a business to "support the club" without saying what that costs or buys. It puts the awkward part of the conversation on them, and most people deal with awkward by not replying. A price, and a clear list of what comes with it, turns an open-ended favour into a normal business decision. If the price is wrong they will tell you, and that is a conversation.

03

Tiers, and why the cheap one matters

Three or four packages at different prices let each business buy at a level it can justify. Keep the top tier exclusive, because that is most of what the premium pays for. Keep the bottom tier genuinely affordable, because a local business that starts small and has a good year usually moves up, and because every sponsor you sign makes the next approach easier. The offer partner tier, where the business gives members a discount instead of cash, costs them nothing up front and is often the easiest first yes.

04

The numbers to include, and the ones to leave out

Include member numbers, typical event attendance, and social following if it is real. Leave out anything you would struggle to evidence. A sponsor who finds out the 2,000 followers are mostly bots does not renew, and word travels in a small town. If a number is weak, lead with a stronger one: a 120 member club where everyone reads the weekly notice is a better proposition than a 500 member club that cannot reach its own membership.

05

How to actually send it

Email is fine, but the pack works far better as the thing you leave behind after a conversation. Walk in, ask for the owner, mention which member of the club suggested them, and hand it over. A pack sent cold to an info@ address gets read by nobody. The same pack handed to the person who signs the cheques, by someone whose kids play for the club, is a different document entirely.

06

What you owe a sponsor afterwards

Whatever you promised, visibly, and then proof that it happened. A short note at the end of the season with the photographs, the event they backed, and how the members responded is the cheapest renewal work there is. Most club sponsorships are lost through silence rather than dissatisfaction: the business never heard anything again and assumed the money disappeared.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this sponsorship pack generator free?

Yes, completely, and there is no account to create. You fill in your club details, the pack is built in your browser, and you can save it as a PDF or copy it into an email. Copying and printing need no email. For a PDF download, verify your email and we send you a branded copy, with your email and tool name shared with the Comnly team.

Where do the suggested prices come from?

They are sized from the member number you enter, using a simple ratio per package type, and rounded to the nearest £25. They are a starting point for a conversation, not a market valuation. What a local business will actually pay depends on how engaged your members are, how visible the club is locally, and whether your members look like its customers. Change any price before you send the pack.

How do I save the pack as a PDF?

Press "Download PDF" and verify your email to receive and save a branded Comnly document with your edited wording and clickable feature links. Use "Print pack" if you prefer your browser’s print dialogue.

Do my club and contact details get sent to Comnly?

The pack is generated in your browser. If you request an emailed PDF, its contents are shared with Comnly and our email provider to deliver your copy. Your email and tool name go to the Comnly team. Tool inputs are never put into the page address. Refreshing clears the local draft.

Can I change the wording?

Yes, and you should. Press "Edit the wording" to change any section, the package names, and the prices. The draft is written to be a sensible starting point, but a pack that sounds like your club always does better than one that sounds like a template.

How much should a club charge for sponsorship?

Price what the sponsor receives rather than what the club needs. Work out how many members would see them, how often, and in what context, then compare that with what the same business would pay for local advertising to people who have never heard of them. The sponsorship revenue calculator on this site helps you sanity check the total across all your packages.

Do we need Comnly to use this?

No. The pack is yours, free, with or without Comnly. Comnly is relevant afterwards: once you have signed a sponsor, you have to deliver the visibility you sold, and Comnly runs sponsor cards and member offers directly in the members’ feed. But the pack stands entirely on its own.
