Generate revenue for your club

Turn member attention into local sponsorship revenue.

Local businesses want to reach your members. Comnly lets you run sponsored posts and sponsor cards from local pubs, restaurants, shops, and trades, positioned as member perks. Your club keeps 100% of the sponsorship value.

Local-business sponsor cards

The pub down the road. The kit supplier. The local accountant. Run their banner in your members’ feed and charge them what you would have charged for a club programme ad.

Sponsored posts as member perks

Position sponsored content as offers and perks, not intrusive ads. Members get useful local discounts and sponsors get a clearly labelled, relevant audience.

100% of the sponsorship to the club

Comnly does not take a cut of sponsorship deals. Whatever your club agrees with a local business stays with your club. The subscription is the only fee you pay us.

A small worked example. A club with 200 active members and four local sponsors paying £300/year each generates £1,200 in sponsorship revenue. That more than covers a Comnly annual subscription and leaves £900 toward kit, socials, or facilities. Real numbers vary by club size and audience, but the model holds: visible attention from a known local audience is something local businesses will pay for.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is Comnly different from WhatsApp or Facebook groups?

Comnly is a structured engagement hub, not a chat app. Critical notices require acknowledgement, events have RSVP tracking, documents are version-controlled, and you get real analytics on reach and engagement. None of which WhatsApp or Facebook offer.

Do my members need to install an app?

Members can use the iOS or Android app for the best experience (including push notifications), or access everything via the web. Admins manage the club on the web dashboard.

Is there a setup fee or contract?

No. £39.99/month (or £399/year, a saving of £81) covers everything, and your first three months are just £29.99/month. No setup fees, no contracts, no per-member charges. Cancel anytime from your billing portal.

How do I get my existing members on board?

Share a join link or QR poster for self-serve sign-up, or send a bulk invite email to your list direct from the dashboard. Members complete their own sign-up (legal acceptance, password, and contact preferences) so your member list stays clean.

What happens to critical notices, do members actually see them?

Critical notices trigger push notifications and email, and members must explicitly acknowledge them. You get a dashboard showing exactly who has read and acknowledged. No more guessing.

Can we collect payments from members through Comnly?

Yes. You can attach a Stripe payment link to any post to collect event fees, kit money, social tickets, trip contributions, or one-off payments. Payments land directly in your own Stripe account, with no platform commission taken by Comnly.

Can I send posts to only some members instead of everyone?

Yes. Comnly supports member targeting by interest, category, team, committee-only, and upcoming event followers. You can also see a live recipient preview before you send so you know exactly who will get the push notification.

How do we get more members to actually turn up to events and club nights?

In our experience working with UK committees, attendance is rarely about the events themselves: it's about communication. Three fixes move the needle most: (1) one-tap RSVP so you have a real number, not a guess; (2) automatic reminders the morning of and a couple of hours before, so it doesn't depend on the Secretary; (3) targeting so members only get posts that actually apply to them, instead of tuning out a noisy WhatsApp. Comnly is built around exactly these three. If you want a structured view of where your club is leaking, try the free Club Communication Health Check.

Why aren't our members coming to the club anymore?

Falling attendance is almost always a communication problem dressed up as a member-engagement problem. Members don't know what's on, find out too late, miss the reminder, or feel like the message wasn't really for them. Clubs that turn this around centralise to a single channel members trust, send reminders that actually land, and target the right members for each post. Comnly handles that delivery and targeting layer; whether the events themselves are worth showing up to is still your committee's job.

What about parents of juniors at our club?

Comnly accounts remain 18+ only, so juniors do not get their own app login, profile, or device. An adult member can, however, add a junior to their own membership as a sub-record and choose to follow the club's junior section interests on the junior's behalf. The parent then receives push notifications about junior fixtures, training, and notices through their own adult account, so they stay in the loop without Comnly becoming an under-18 platform. Comnly does not provide a separate junior-facing experience or under-18 safeguarding workflows.

Can our club generate revenue through Comnly?

Yes. Clubs can run sponsored posts and sponsor cards from local businesses (pubs, restaurants, kit suppliers, local trades) directly in the member feed. Comnly does not take a cut of any sponsorship value you agree with a local business: 100% of the sponsorship money stays with the club. Sponsored content is clearly labelled and positioned as member perks rather than intrusive ads.

What is Comnly?

Comnly is a private space for clubs, associations, and committees to keep their members in the loop. Think of it as a calm replacement for the noisy WhatsApp group and the email chain that nobody reads. Admins post updates, share events, run polls, and store important documents in one place. Members get clean notifications, a tidy feed, and a single calendar of what is on.

How do I join a club on Comnly?

There are two ways. The first is to scan the QR code your club has put up on posters, behind the bar, or shared in a message. The QR code opens the club's join page and walks you through creating an account. The second is to use an invite link your committee has sent by email or text. Tap the link, create your account, and your request is sent for approval. An admin will let you in shortly afterwards.

How do I create an organisation on Comnly?

Head to comnly.com and choose Sign up. You will create your account, set up your organisation, accept the legal documents, and pay the first month at the introductory rate. After payment your dashboard opens straight away. Comnly is currently offered to UK-based organisations only. You will be asked to confirm that your club is based in the UK as part of signup.

Do I have to be 18 to use Comnly?

Yes. Whether you are joining as an admin, an owner, or a member, you need to be at least 18 years old. This applies to everyone on the platform. We also ask for your date of birth at signup. This is used for admin features such as birthday reminders and age-checked event targeting. Members can choose whether their birthday is visible to the rest of the club.

Is Comnly free for members?

Yes. Members never pay Comnly to use the app. Only the club pays the monthly or yearly subscription that keeps the community running. Some clubs may use Comnly to collect dues or take payment for events. That is set up by your committee, not by us, and it is always clearly labelled.

Where is my data stored?

Comnly runs on Supabase, with data hosted in the EU. We back up the database daily and keep recent snapshots so we can recover if something goes wrong. We never sell your data, and we do not show third-party advertising. Sponsor cards inside the app are run by your own club, not by us.

Can I export or delete my data?

Yes. You have the right to a copy of your data and the right to ask us to delete it. Email support@comnly.com from the email address on your account and we will arrange it. Clubs that have been suspended or cancelled have their data retained for a clearly defined recovery window before any deletion, so nothing is lost in a rush.

Is Comnly available outside the UK?

Not yet. Comnly is currently for UK-based organisations and UK-resident members only. We may expand later, but for now signup is restricted to UK billing addresses.

Where do I find the terms and privacy policy?

You can read the End User Terms, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and (for owners) the Master Subscription Agreement from the legal links in the footer or under Preferences. When we make a material change, we ask you to re-accept the document when you next sign in.

How do I contact support?

Email support@comnly.com and a real person will reply. Please include your organisation name, the device you are on (iPhone, Android, or web), and a short description of what is happening. Screenshots or a quick screen recording make a big difference. We aim to reply within one working day and always within two.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Same address. Email support@comnly.com and tell us what you saw, what you expected, and what you would like instead. We read everything and we track suggestions against our roadmap, even when we cannot promise a date.

Something urgent has happened. What do I do?

If a member is at risk, or you believe content on Comnly is illegal or harmful, email support@comnly.com with the word URGENT in the subject line. We will prioritise it. For anything safeguarding-related, contact the relevant local authority as well. Comnly is a communications tool, not an emergency service.
