For running clubs

The running club app that keeps your club nights full.

Running clubs run on Tuesday-night turnouts, Sunday long runs, a Strava feed, and a WhatsApp group that swells every January and goes quiet by April. Comnly gives committees a structured way to publish club nights, send route changes and weather calls, coordinate race entries and championship counters, and collect membership fees and race entry money through Stripe payment links. The result: more members through the door on club nights, and fewer people missing the news that this week's route is starting from the pub.

  • Club night RSVP and reminders
  • Race entry coordination
  • Stripe payment links for membership and races
  • Group / pace targeting
  • Push notifications to every member

Real scenarios

Where Comnly earns its place

Last-minute route or start-point changes

Roadworks on the usual route, club night moved to the pub for a social, ice on the trails. Send a critical notice that pushes to every runner and requires acknowledgement, so nobody turns up at the old start point in the rain.

Pace groups, beginners, championship squad

Target posts and notices by pace group, training squad, or championship team. The beginners feed stays beginner-friendly, and the championship squad gets fixture updates without spamming the whole club.

Membership renewals and race entries

Attach a Stripe payment link to the EA affiliation renewal post or the club championship race entry post. Members pay in two taps and the money goes directly to the club's Stripe account. Comnly takes no commission.

Features you will use

Built for the way your group actually runs

Push notifications members actually open

Club night reminders, route changes, race entry deadlines, and committee notices land as pushes from the club. Members open the app because the messages are signal, not noise.

Club nights, long runs, and races in one calendar

Tuesday club nights, Sunday long runs, club socials, championship races, and away weekends all sit on one calendar with RSVP and reminders.

Payment links for membership and races

Annual membership, EA affiliation contributions, club championship race entries, kit orders, social tickets. Payments route directly to the club's Stripe account with no Comnly commission.

Acknowledgement for safety and EA notices

England Athletics rule updates, road race safety briefings, and run leader changes can be marked critical and require explicit acknowledgement, with a timestamped audit trail for the committee.

Member directory with pace and group info

Members self-onboard via a join link or QR poster at the meeting point, picking their pace group or training squad. The committee has accurate data without chasing.

FAQ

Common questions

Can we handle multiple pace groups and training squads?

Yes. Target posts and notices by pace group, training squad, or interest tag. Each group sees the updates that matter to them. Critical clubwide notices still reach everyone.

Can run leaders post without full committee access?

Yes. Comnly supports scoped admin permissions. Run leaders can post club night updates and route changes without billing or member-management authority.

Can we collect membership and race entry fees?

Yes. Attach Stripe payment links to any post. Payments route directly to the club's own connected Stripe account, with no Comnly commission. Stripe charges its standard processing fee separately.

Does Comnly cover junior runners?

Comnly accounts remain 18+ only: junior runners do not get their own app login, profile, or device. An adult member can, however, add a junior to their own membership as a sub-record and choose to follow the club's junior section interests on the junior's behalf. The parent then receives push notifications about junior sessions, races, and notices through their own adult account. Comnly does not provide a separate junior-facing experience or under-18 safeguarding workflows.

Is Comnly affiliated with England Athletics?

Comnly is an independent UK software product. It works for any UK adult running club regardless of affiliation. The acknowledgement audit trail is well-suited to EA rule updates and safety notices.

How quickly can we onboard the club?

Most clubs are live in under an hour. Pin a QR poster at the usual meeting point, share a join link in the existing WhatsApp once, and let members self-onboard.

Why are our club nights getting quiet?

Club night attendance usually dips when members don't know that night's route, miss the cancellation when weather changes the plan, or stop feeling part of a group because their pace bracket is barely being communicated to. Clubs that get club nights full again post the route the night before, send a push reminder a couple of hours before, and target by pace group so beginners feel they have their own slot and the championship squad doesn't get spammed with parkrun chat. Comnly handles all three; whether the route is interesting is still on the run leader.
