Digital membership cards
People forget their wallet, but they never forget their phone. Every member gets a branded digital membership card with a secure QR code, ready to add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It sits one swipe away on the lock screen, survives the app being closed, and proves live membership the moment it is scanned. No more lost plastic cards or out-of-date paper lists.
What you can do
Members tap once to save their card to the phone wallet they already use. It shows on the lock screen and stays current even if they never open the app, so the card always works at the door.
Staff scan the QR code with the Comnly app and instantly see the member’s name and photo with a clear admitted or not-admitted result. The check happens live against your membership list, so a lapsed member is caught on the spot.
The barcode is backed by a rotating token, not a fixed number. If a member loses their phone or a screenshot leaks, they reissue the card in a tap and the old one stops working everywhere, including any saved wallet pass.
Each card scan is recorded, so committees get a real picture of who is in the club and when, your busiest days and times, and your most regular faces. It is the closest thing to true footfall data, stronger than an RSVP.
A card scan only reveals the member’s name, photo, and membership status to authorised staff. It never exposes email, date of birth, or any directory detail, and per-member attendance is only visible to admins with the right permission.
Cards carry your club’s name and logo, so the card a member shows at the bar feels like an official membership credential rather than a generic app screen.
How it works
As soon as a member is approved, their digital membership card is issued automatically inside the Comnly app. There is nothing for the committee to print or post.
The member taps Add to Apple Wallet or Add to Google Wallet, and the card lives alongside their boarding passes and bank cards on the lock screen.
Staff scan the QR code to verify live membership in seconds, and every scan quietly feeds your attendance picture.
