For sailing clubs
Sailing clubs are run by volunteers who juggle race programmes, training courses, the dinghy park, the bar and a forecast that changes overnight. Notices go out by email that half the members never open, and the decision to abandon racing reaches the slipway after people have rigged. Comnly gives flag officers and the committee a direct line to members' phones, with acknowledgement for anything safety-related and targeting by fleet so the cruisers are not woken up by a Laser notice.
Real scenarios
The race officer posts one important notice at 7am and it pushes to every member in the affected fleets. The committee can see who has acknowledged it, so nobody tows a boat down the motorway for a cancelled series.
Send the handicap fleet's start time to the handicap fleet and the cruiser rally plan to the cruiser owners. Clubwide notices, like the laying-up date or the AGM, still go to everyone.
Attach a Stripe payment link to the adult course, the open meeting entry or the laying-up supper. Money lands in the club's own Stripe account, with no commission taken by Comnly.
Features you will use
Changes to sailing instructions, harbour restrictions, safety boat procedures and slipway rules can be marked important. Each member acknowledges them and the committee has a timestamped record it can export.
Race results, social nights, work party dates and committee news arrive as a notification from the club. Busy members see them without digging through an inbox or a newsletter PDF.
Ask who is coming to the fitting-out work party, the Friday evening series or the prize-giving dinner. The organiser sees real numbers in advance and Comnly sends reminders the day before.
Members carry their card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The bar can scan it for member prices and the front desk can check members in, and the rotating code stops cards being lent out.
Series races, open meetings, courses, cruises and socials sit on one calendar members can add to their own phone. Repeating events, like a Wednesday evening series, are set up once.
Meeting papers, minutes, the safety policy and the handover notes for vacant roles live in a private space for the committee, with polls and meeting chat. When a role changes hands, the knowledge stays with the club.
