Critical notices

Know who read what really matters.

Critical notices in Comnly trigger push notifications and a mandatory acknowledgement action so you have a timestamped audit trail of exactly who has read your AGM notice, safeguarding update, or constitutional change. The kind of evidence committees, insurers, and regulators actually want.

What you can do

The full feature surface

Mandatory acknowledgement

Critical notices are flagged as must-read in the feed and require an explicit acknowledgement tap. No more "I never saw it".

Push notifications to every device

Critical posts dispatch as push notifications to every member’s phone the moment you publish, so nothing gets buried in a chat scroll.

Member-by-member visibility

See exactly who has acknowledged and who has not, with timestamps and reminder history per member.

Automatic reminder cadence

Configure organisation-wide reminder intervals so non-acknowledged members get nudged without you scheduling anything.

CSV export for committee minutes

Export the full acknowledgement state with reminder metadata as CSV, ready for AGM packs, insurance evidence, or committee minutes.

Reminder history per member

See how many reminders each member has received and when the last one was sent, so chasing stays targeted and proportionate.

How it works

From idea to delivered in minutes

STEP 01

Compose as a critical notice

Open the post composer in critical mode. Acknowledgement-required and high-priority styling are applied automatically.

STEP 02

Push dispatch

Comnly sends the post as a push notification to every member in the audience and flags it as must-read in their feed until they acknowledge.

STEP 03

Track and export

Watch the acknowledgement dashboard fill in live. Send manual reminders to laggards. Export to CSV when the deadline passes.

FAQ

Common questions

What counts as a critical notice?

Anything where it matters that the member actually saw it: AGM notices, constitutional changes, safeguarding updates, fee increases, ground closures, code-of-conduct changes, and similar. The committee decides which posts to mark critical.

Can members opt out of critical notices?

Members can opt out of standard posts but they cannot opt out of critical notices that fall within their member scope. The acknowledgement requirement remains regardless of notification preferences.

Is the audit trail timestamped?

Yes. Every acknowledgement is captured with a server-side timestamp, and every dispatch event is logged with delivery state per channel.

What happens for members without smartphones?

They can use Comnly via the web portal on a laptop or tablet. Critical notices appear flagged as must-read at the top of their feed the next time they sign in, with the same acknowledgement requirement.

Can we send a critical notice to just the committee, not the whole club?

Yes. Critical notices can be scoped to any audience (full members, committee-only, specific category, etc.) and the acknowledgement dashboard scopes accordingly.
